Welcome to Beautiful Allotment

Discover a pocket of countryside, in the heart of the city

Brought to you by Bourne & Hollingsworth, Beautiful Allotment will take the homemade and creative inspiration of an allotment to create an unprecedented drinking and dining experience this summer.

Where allotments naturally find their homes on wasteland, Beautiful Allotment will take up residency in the stunning Victorian gardens of the Geffrye Museum. The magnificent grounds will be transformed into a serene oasis, where bookable day beds, handcrafted potting sheds, makeshift cocktail bars and raised BBQ areas will all mix in with trailing plants, vegetable patches, repurposed items and homemade, handpicked pieces of furniture to create a living, organic and beautiful outdoor destination.

Cocktails curated by the Bourne & Hollingsworth team will be fresh, seasonal and sustainable, using ingredients grown on the grounds. Roaming ‘garden-tenders’ with wheel barrow bars will bring drinks to revellers as they lounge on sofas in amongst the home-grown plants. For those looking for a bite to eat, the food will almost be entirely BBQ led and locally sourced, with delicious and ever changing wholesome platters of vegan, vegetarian, fish and meat options.

BOOKINGS

Beautiful Allotment will open from the 25th July - 1st September and can cater for up to 1000 people.

You can book from 4 - 40 people online. For parties over this, please send us an enquiry and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. All bookings, unless otherwise specified will be a mixture of seating and standing space, nestled in the beautiful surroundings of our allotment.

Weekend Bookings

On Saturdays and Sundays we run two sittings throughout the day, from 12pm - 4pm and 5pm - close.

Long flower table

The Long Flower Table is embedded with greenery and foliage and can seat up to 30 people, perfect for small and medium size drinks parties.

We have created a beautiful dome that is nestled within the canopy of a large oak tree. The tree house can be hired for up to 10 people.

 We have three potting sheds on the allotment and they can be hired for up to 10 people. Seating will be placed inside and out to allow guests to soak up the rays!

Luxurious for six, comfortable for eight and a friendly ten.

Hire one of our luxurious day beds for the evening! We have four day beds in total and you can hire them as a base for you and your friends for up to six people.

FAQS

    • Two sessions are run on Saturday and Sunday, from 12pm - 4pm from 4.30pm to close. 

    • Unless otherwise specified, bookings give you access to the garden and you are welcome to find your own space within the allotment.

    • Food and drink is self-service from the garden bars and BBQs and there are plenty of veggie and vegan options on offer.

    • Menus change daily so are not available in advance. All food is cooked on open fire BBQs and grills and is a mix of delicious meat, fish and veg options served alongside salads and sides. We do our best to cater for intolerances in advance, with plenty of vegan, gluten and dairy free options, but talk to the chef on the day if you are concerned.

    • All bookings are based on a mixture of seating and standing space – the allotment is not a formal seated dinner space!

    • Food and drink from off site are not allowed to be brought into the allotment.

    • The nearest station is Hoxton, but Old Street, Shoreditch High Street and Haggerston are all in easy walking distance.

    • Walk-ins are welcome and we do keep space back, but it is on a first come first served basis.

    • The pop-up is card only.

    Booking is recommended but walk in space is reserved every day on a first come first served basis. Unless otherwise specified, bookings give you access to the garden and you are welcome to find your own space within the allotment. You can book specific spaces using the enquiry form above.

    FRIENDS OF BEAUTIFUL ALLOTMENT 

    Creating our serene garden oasis would not be possible without the helping hands of some of our green fingered friends!

    A young, passionate company, pale green dot are sowing the seeds of a circular economy.  They collect food waste from commercial bars and kitchens.  This waste is transformed into compost, fertiliser and renewable energy. 

    The fruit, vegetables and herbs growing at The Beautiful Allotment have been nourished in compost created from the food waste of Bourne and Hollingsworth’s cocktail bars, and other exciting venues.  Recycling food waste is vital in helping to protect our vulnerable planet.

    Exciting plans are taking shape to grow their own fruit and vegetables from London’s food waste, with their own food composting facilities in the commissioning process.  Visit their website www.palegreendot.co.uk to sign up to their newsletter and keep up to date with their latest news.
